Massage Therapy - A Delightful Way to Reduce Stress and Increase Your Health
Break Down Cellulite Tone Your Skin and Muscles Increase Circulation Oxygenate Your Blood
Massage, as a complement to medicine, has been around for approximately 4,000 to 5,000 years. The ancient Greeks, the ancient Egyptians, and the ancient Chinese all left records describing the benefits of massage for healing. Since that time, the art and science of massage therapy has been refined and improved by the many people who have practiced it over the centuries.
Massage can have a wide variety of physical, emotional and psychological benefits. Just some of the many benefits that people have experienced from professional massages are :
Strengthen the Lymphatic System - The lymphatic system is found throughout the body, and is vital to helping the body remove wastes generated by individual cells. As such it is a part of the immune system. When this system becomes sluggish or clogged, it is easier for illness to begin. Massage stimulates the lymph nodes to work more efficiently and to help lymph fluids to flow more freely.
Improve the Circulatory System - As muscles and soft tissues are massaged, the precise pressure delivered to them can cause blood and other body fluids to be mobilized. This causes blood to flow more freely and deliver more oxygen to the various organs and tissues of the body. This enhances and speeds up the elimination of wastes from the body.
Healing Hurting Muscles - Muscles injured in sports and everyday life are directly helped by a professional massage. As the blood supply to muscles is increased by the massage; additional vitamins, minerals, and oxygen is supplied to the muscles for their nourishment. The massage also increases the removal of waste from affected muscles helping them to heal. Muscle stiffness and soreness is often relieved when the massage causes lactic acid to leave. Also, a proper massage can increase vascularity in muscles which in turn improves elasticity, muscle tone and strength.
Fine Tuning the Metabolism - Metabolism is the sum of all physical and chemical changes that take place in the body, and enables its continued growth and functioning. Massage activates and speeds up the metabolism by stimulating fluids to flow more efficiently in each of the body's different systems. Waste products are removed more quickly and nutrients are delivered to all parts of the body sooner.
Break Down Cellulite - Cellulite is really just "lumpy fat." Although massage therapy is not intended to get rid of fat, it does mobilize cellulite so that the body can re-structure it like normal fat. Since we all need a certain amount of fat to be healthy, we can at least improve its appearance.
