New Orleans Saints Darren Sharper Heals with Hyperbaric Oxygen

For years, professional athletes have relied on hyperbaric oxygen therapy to speed healing of injuries. It has been so effective that New Orleans Saints safety Darren Sharper owns an inflatable hyperbaric oxygen chamber to recover from games and injuries.

HBOT helps the body heal by infusing damaged tissues with molecular oxygen. Red blood cells cannot reach bone and tissues. Also, white blood cell count is increased which fight infection. With normal blood flow restored, the body’s natural ability to heal is enhanced, speeding up recovery time.

According to the video below, Sharper heard about HBOT from a teammate while playing for the Minnesota Vikings. He says that the treatment helped him quickly recover from a knee injury and he often uses it after games or just to relax.

Sharper uses the portable Solace 210 Mild Hyperbaric Chamber. However, this unit only has a 4 psi of operating pressure and an oxygen concentration of 20%.  It certainly hasn’t hurt his game, but other hyperbaric chambers offer more oxygen and speedier results.

Our hyperbaric chambers use 100% oxygen and have a maximum pressure of 30psi. That's six times the pressure of the 'bagged' therapy, which means six times the efficacy of the treatment.
