Oxygen Therapy Alleviates Cluster Headache Pain
Fox 5 Atlanta ran a story about how oxygen therapy has helped suffers of debilitating cluster headaches. Many studies have shown that by breathing oxygen can reduce attacks and alleviate the pain of current ones.
The treatment featured in the video is called normobaric oxygen therapy. The patient simply breaths pure oxygen from a facemask. However, the Health and Longevity Center uses Hyberbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT). With HBOT, the patient lies in a pressurized chamber full of pure oxygen. The patient not only breathes the oxygen, but the whole body is infused with oxygen though the body tissues. The oxygen reaches the bloodstream at a faster rate.
